Similar efficacy and control of nocturnal and daily asthma symptoms were obtained with Bambec 20 mg at bedtime and inhaled salmeterol 50 µg twice daily in a group of moderate to severe asthma patients with nocturnal asthma. No difference in incidence of tremor was observed between treatments.

Once-daily Bambec is a convenient, effective treatment for asthma which is comparable to twice-daily inhaled salmeterol. Both treatments were well tolerated.
Bambec and salmeterol provide similar control of nocturnal asthma in patients using inhaled glucocorticosteriods

| Bambuterol was shown to be more cost-effective than salmeterol in patients with nocturnal asthma. The cost of the study and rescue medication was lower in all three countries in which the study was conducted (UK, Italy, and Norway) during treatment with bambuterol compared with salmeterol (mean cost of bambuterol: $0.71/day and of salmeterol: $1.15/day). |
