Several studies have demonstrated that inhaled Bricanyl achieves rapid bronchodilation in children and adults with asthma.

Bricanyl Turbuhaler produced an almost immediate bronchodilating response, as measured by increased specific conductance, whereas a response with Bricanyl pMDI* was not apparent until 30 seconds post-inhalation.
Immediate bronchodilation with Bricanyl Turbuhaler

Mean change in specific airway conductance from baseline in 10 hyperreactive asthmatic patients following inhalation of terbutaline via Turbuhaler, and pressurized metered-dose inhaler, compared to the response to placebo by pressurized metered-dose inhaler.

Onset of action as measured by decreased airway resistance was rapid (within 1 minute) with both Bricanyl Turbuhaler and Bricanyl pMDI*.
Rapid onset of action with inhaled Bricanyl
Onset of Action

In an open, randomized, crossover study, 10 hospitalized patients with reversible obstructive lung disease received a single dose of 0.5 mg terbutaline, delivered either from a pressurized aerosol or from Turbuhaler.

Bricanyl pMDI* provided a rapid increase in peak expiratory flow rate which occurred at a similar rate to that of salbutamol pMDI.
Inhaled Bricanyl provides rapid bronchodilation

The efficacy of Bricanyl and salbutamol (1 puff and, after 30 minutes, 2 puffs) was compared in 12 asthmatic patients in a double-blind, crossover study.
