Bricanyl Turbuhaler can be used effectively in a tropical climate.

1. Lindsay DA, et al. Eur Respir J 1994; 7: 342–5

In a group of adults and children with stable asthma living in a tropical climate, there was no significant difference between the effects of Bricanyl Turbuhaler and salbutamol pMDI on peak expiratory flow rate and daily symptom scores. Over the 4-week treatment period, mean minimum and maximum temperatures were 22°C and 30°C, respectively (overall range 14–39°C). Mean morning humidity was 71% (range 41–98%) and afternoon humidity was 61% (range 25–98%).

No difference in clinical effectiveness between Bricanyl Turbuhaler and salbutamol pMDI

The clinical effectiveness and patient acceptance of terbutaline via Turbuhaler and salbutamol via pressurized metered-dose inhaler in hot, humid regions were compared in a randomized, open, crossover study in 46 patients.
