Assists in the effective use of AstraZeneca’s pMDIs by patients who have problems co-ordinating actuation of the inhaler with inhalation
Suitable for adults and children
Provides greater lung deposition of drug than pMDI alone
Reduces oropharyngeal drug deposition
Effective delivery of inhaled budesonide to pre-school children with asthma
Effective delivery of inhaled terbutaline to pre-school and school-aged children

Alternative names for Nebuhaler
Bibliography

Nebuhaler has been demonstrated to markedly increase the proportion of a dose which is delivered to the lungs from a pMDI. Use of Nebuhaler improves delivery of drugs to the lung in patients who have poor inhaler technique.

Delivery of drug to the lung was significantly greater when using Nebuhaler than when a pMDI was used alone and when simulated poor technique (inhalation 1 second after actuation) was used. Administration using pMDI alone simulated poor inhaler technique by inhaling 1 second after actuation. Multiple puffs consisted of four actuations separated 1 second apart.
