Nebulizers have been available since the beginning of the 20th century,
and were followed by pressurized metered-dose inhalers (pMDIs), and
later by spacer devices and dry powder inhalers, all of which provide
convenient ways of administering inhaled therapy. The AstraZeneca pMDI
(Pressurised Metered-Dose Inhalers) provides good clinical effects from
budesonide and terbutaline.
