Symbicort
has been shown to result in fewer exacerbations requiring medical
intervention, superior lung function, and improved quality of life
compared with budesonide alone, formoterol alone, or placebo.
Health-economic analysis has demonstrated that these improvements
with Symbicort are achieved without increased healthcare costs
compared with the monocomponents or placebo (Löfdahl et al,
2003)
